When assembling a PB&J sandwich, which should be spread on the bread 1st? Should you also use separate knives for spreading?

(I hope I been doing this right)

I always do jelly first and clean the knife off on the clean piece of bread, then go for the PB.

I build triple deckers - peanut butter on the 2 bookend slices and BOTH sides of the inside slice. Jelly goes between all 3 slices. It takes 2 knives tho.

I don't care if there's peanut butter in the jelly jar or vice versa. I'm gonna eat 'em both and they both'll wind up in the same place.

I use the squeeze jelly so I do peanut butter first and spread that. Then squeeze out the jelly and spread that, same knife.

Who am I kidding... I'll have to ask my wife.
