Good for you Doc. Hitting balls outside at the driving range was a plus. Anything outside is a plus.

Might get out for 9 tommorrow. Course opened today, all my buds played. I know I have 2 weeks coming up of not playing but hey, maybe. I guess there were 2 temp greens but in typical fashion it was still full boat at the register.

I had a blast my first time out, we agreed to two off the first tee has neither of hit any practice balls. My first drive of the year, cold topped it... carry about 5 inches total distance about 175. Nice start. PLayed the rest of the round pretty damned good though much better than expected and much better than it felt. After losing 60 pounds I was concerned about my body not recognizing the swing but alls well so far. Heading to Myrtle Beach next week and playing once or twice down there.

I hurt myself in the gym last week and that round on March 16th could have been my last for a bit.

Who has experience with rotator cuff injuries?

Haven't been back in a while due to my job change and other things going on, but how have y'all been?

I plan on getting out and playing again within 2 weeks. Still have the orange No Brainer Phenom combo That I used all of last year and part of 2012. A record for me LOL

Just had my first round of the year... UNHEARD of in my world to have not played in April and almost not in May. Got to the point of me saying forget it for the year depending how the round went. Played on Martha's Vineyard at Farm Neck ( Obama's vacation course). Rough start, got it up an down on the first 4 holes for par. Boomed it off the tee but on those 4 holes I was flipping every iron from a 4 iron thru a SW.... and one shanked 4 iron on the second hole.

Fixed it on #5 and played the next 14 holes 5 under for a 67. Just put a tm tip on the HOF HD proto 65x for the heck of it and hit that instead of the Penley... hitting it inside at work and it seemed to be better. Almost sent that shaft back to HOF along with the 55 X. Its a different animal than the 55.... for the better... so smooth and long!

I'm hoping I may be playing my first round of 2014 soon. In fact, it will be my first round in over 4 years. Been sidelined with back problems, as many of you are aware. So lately I've been trying to get back into it by going out and hitting some balls at the local schoolyard. Last two times out, hit 40 balls with a wedge without any pain. Was even hitting them as far as I used to!

Next step is to get out to the range and hit some longer irons and work my way up to the woods, but so far I'm optimistic that I might make it back to the course before the end of this month.

Now, to work on becoming a golf ho again...

Sounds like a smart plan Dave, good luck!
