Phony and "brilliant marketer" are not mutually exclusive terms.

It's certainly "memorable." Like something you want gone from your cranium, but it still finds a spot.

OK, you knew I was going to weigh in here, but instead of retelling my past success with Jack Hamm's driver, let me tell you about last weekend!
First, I should say that this year I tried a Power Pod II, had some succes. I also tried super heavy heads with some intersting results. But by a couple of weeks ago I was back to my old faithful Super Pro which is the USGA conforming brother of the "Hammer" designed and sold by Jack Hamm/XFactor golf. I have my Super Pro head on an Orbitor Pro 50 stiff flex shaft at 48" USGA.
My traveling foursome decided to play Pine Brook Golf course in Grafton Ohio for the first time. Hole #2 is straight away Par 5, rated 510 from the blue tees, with water in front of the green. It was our 11th hole of the day because we started on the back. My Super Pro had been treating me well all morning, but my drive on this hole looked a lot longer than my earlier drives. So, I lasered the flag from the tee box and lasered it again from the ball, did the math, and it was a drive of 321 yards!!! POW!!! So yes, Jack Hamms drivers do work, and work well!
I must admit, I do find the infomercial a little off putting, but the bottom line is the drivers work!!!
So laugh all you want at his infomercial, but don't be surprised when someone out drives you with a Hammer or a Super Pro!!!

PS I was181 from the pin, I hit my Perfect Club Plus as hard as I could. It cleared the water, bounced a couple of times and rolled into the hole. Albatros!!!! I'm still in shock from that one. I bought a round in the club house that cost me a whole lot more than I wanted to spend!!!

The clubs he markets are phony, imo, but isn't Hamm himself a legitimate long drive guy from back in the day? His time was before the actual long drive circuit, but I think he's legit in being a bomber.Isn't he in the Guiness Book?

Yes, he is legit, and so are his drivers. I'm a little passionate about them because I've had some success with them in long drive years ago, and definitely played my best rounds of golf with them. I've experimented with them all, tried many different shafts, and my favorite is still the SuperPro. Not only is it long, but it's straight. I truely don't understand all the science behind them, I just know they work. I honestly average in the 260 - 270 range with my Super Pro, with occasional drives over 300. Not bad for a 60 year old high handicapper.

Never tried one, never seen one on the course or at the range.

I can't find any reference to him in the Guinness Book of Records nor can I find any legit accomplishments. Just a lot of claims without witnesses or substantiation.

Above is a pic that DrGreen posted for me. I've been hitting this XFactor Super Pro head for about 5 years now and this is the best combination of shaft and head I've found to date. The shaft is an Orbitor 50 Stiff flex which is very much like the old Accuflex Pro LD. I also have a Hammer head on a Grafalloy Easy Flex which I use to work on my timing. Do yourself a favor and try one of these!!!!!

Does Jack Hamm have any ownership in the company he promotes or is he just a paid employee?

I am sure it's a usable head but the man himself is a complete joke... other than being a good marketer, his golf accomplishments are non existent. I've seen his swing and seen enough to know he not motivating the ball 477 yards.

The air hammer was the fugliest fuckin thing ever invented in gold and thats saying a lot. The fuckin thing whistled!? I hit it once about 16-17 years ago at a driving range.
