A friend bought a dozen and I snagged a couple to play today.

The color: It's not really yellow, it's more of a yellow-green, with kind of a flecking in it like a Callaway Pearl. Really really easy to see in the air and on the ground, definitely more visible than a white ball. Got plenty of attention too, everyone was interested in it and most people knew what it was without seeing the logo.

Durability: Excellent, as good as any 3-piece urethane and better than most. Didn't shred on full wedges and only suffered minimally on unscheduled cart path and timber interactions. As good as a ProV1.

The rest: In performance and sound it seems to be completely identical to the white Z Star. It spins plenty, great short game performance, long and with a mid-high trajectory. Feels slightly firmer and more clicky than a ProV1, much softer and less clicky than a ProV1x. If you like the Z Star and want to try something a little wilder, no reason not to give the yellow one a try, nothing got lost when the color was added. I'm a big fan of the ball.

I love 'em. They seem to perform just like the Z-Star, yet are actually more durable. Or maybe the transparent cover just hides scuffs better. In any case, I like them a lot.

I love them too. The Z Star X is my current ball of choice and the yellow version of both the Z Star and Z Star X perform just like the white ones. Sweet ball in all-around performance, look great and for me, unmatched durability. That used to be an area where Srixon lagged behind the competition, their covers were weak. No more, they're top of the field now.

I had wanted to try the ZStar but when they came out with the yellow ZStar I finally bought a sleeve. I have found two things with this ball. One I love the feel off the putter and it performs as good as any other premium ball for me. The selling point for me however is the fact that I now can see my ball land on the green and be able to see it until it stops. White balls are hard for me to follow once they hit their arc and start to come down. My course is a quasi links style and there is no background to help frame the ball as it comes down. Unfortunately I still have 3-4 dozen Pro V1's and Penta's to use up first but as soon as my stock reduces I will be putting this ball in play. There is no down side to this ball for me.

I am sure there are people on here that would take those off your hands for ya! Maybe even buy you the Z-stars and have them shipped to your house in exchange for the Penta's and Prov's...

This ball looks interesting. My sight even with glasses continues to get worse and this ball sounds like it could be a lot easier to follow.

You must try a sleeve and find out. It is like night and day for me. They say some people have a slight red/green blindness and can'r see white well because of the green grass. I was hesitant to try them simply because of the stigma of the old yellow ball=top flight. Weird to think that but it is easy to get over once you play this ball. It is just as good as any other premium ball on the market in my mind. I have read several thought it did not spin as much as the ProV1 yet some say it spun just the same or better.

From what I have read on several forums if the public really goes for the yellow there is a very good chance other manufacturers will follow right along with one. No sure if Titleist would ever come out with a yellow ProV1 but you never know.

That is okay, I have 7 holes that are pretty much a blind shot to the green on my course. I can use them on these holes since I can't see the green anyway.

I played a round with a friend and his dad and used a Tour Yellow for my round. His dad went out the next day and bought a few dozen of them he liked the visibility so much. Very easy to follow.

Well I have been playing this ball now for over a month. I bought some white ZStars as well to see if they played the same. So far they seem to be the exact same ball and have the same tendencies. The difference for me is the color as it just makes the ball seem bigger. If I put them side by side they obviously look the same size, but if I put it on the ground and set up to hit it, it appears a bit larger in size to me. Tomorrow I am going to play a round with my TM Penta and see if I find a big difference in play and feel.

If you want a bright yellow POS ball there have always been Top-Flites and Pinnacles to fill the need. The thing about the Z Star is that it's a GOOD yellow ball. That's something that can't be said about the Visions or any other models currently on the market.

Are these the balls that Mike Tait has the US marketing rights to?

Just Googled - yes
