some decent shows this year.... a real big fan of Curb Your Enthusiasm and I think that this is by far the best season that Larry David has had all the episodes seem to be well written.

What do you guys watch on HBO?

Ever since The Wire went off the air...sigh...I've tried other shows, but nothing has stuck. Bored To Death is okay...The Number One Ladies Detective Agency was really, really well done, but is already off the air.

I don't watch anything on HBO at the moment. I follow Entourage and True Blood, but they are between seasons.

@ Maury, so true Wire cannot ever be matched
@ Rick, enjoy Entourage -- never disappoints

on a comedy side note, has anyone seen the new Robert Schimmel special? Life Since Then on Showtime... awesome

I'm really looking forward to The Pacific on HBO in 2010. At the moment though all my favorite cable shows are on other networks. I love Dexter, Mad Men and Sons of Anarchy.

@ SKrinsky --- totally agree on Mad Men, Matthew Weiner the creator is brilliant, great great show.
Concur on The Pacific from the creators of B.O.B, looks to be quite the 10 part series.... Anything to reinforce and keep the story alive about WWII, most of these guys are almost gone...not a lot of them left.

Just the fact that it's a relative of Band of Brothers has me stoked for The Pacific. If it's half as good it'll still be better than 99% of what's on TV.

And like Maury, I miss The Wire. That was great stuff.

Sidenote: it is incredible how many people from The Wire I see on other shows in small, supporting roles. That show had no talent that really, truly broke out big. Everything about it was small, except for its accomplishment. It is, to my mind, the greatest television show ever made.

The Wire HAS to be the most overrated show in television history! Yes,it was good, outstanding, even, but the best of all time? I watched all the seasons over one winter,I think,so I liked it,I just don't see it as being some otherworldly show.

We should probably drop HBO since we don't seem to watch anything on there regularly. None of the HBO produced shows and only sometimes do we watch any of the movies. Probably $10/12 a month that we could save.

I just buy the box sets or download them, its cheaper than paying for a channel you watch for an hour a week.
